Every MoonSwatch ever made carries a tachymeter — a scale for measuring speed, inherited straight from the Speedmaster. Every one except this.
The Mission to the Pink Moonphase has a pulsometer on its black bezel instead: a scale for measuring a heartbeat. You start the chronograph when you feel a pulse, count thirty beats, stop it, and read your rate off the dial. And Swatch went one step further — there's a small heart embossed on the pusher at 2 o'clock, the one you press to begin. As several writers noted at launch, no other MoonSwatch and no Speedmaster has ever carried a symbol on a pusher.
So this is the one watch in the collection designed to be used against your own body rather than pointed at a passing car. That changes what the strap is for.
The size: 20mm
Every MoonSwatch takes a 20mm strap, this one included. Same case across the whole collection, so there's nothing to measure and nothing to check.
Worth knowing before you shop: our mission collections are a colour menu, not a compatibility list. The strap is the part that won't survive, and there are no spares
Here's the argument that applies to this watch and to almost nothing else in the collection.
The Pink Moonphase wasn't standard production. It appeared on 1 April 2025, at a handful of selected Swatch stores, for a limited window — and then it was gone. There was no restock, and there's no counter you can walk up to for a replacement part.
Now think about what it came on: a pink Velcro strap with white contrast stitching and a pink Bioceramic loop. It's a nicely made band. It is also, unavoidably, hook-and-loop fabric — a consumable with a service life measured in a couple of years of real wear. The nap flattens, the grip weakens, the edges fray, and pale pink fabric shows every mark it collects.
The case will outlast it easily. So on this reference the maths is unusual: the component most likely to fail is the one you can't replace with an original. Wearing the watch on rubber and keeping the factory band boxed is the only way to still own a complete example in five years — and it's the version that actually gets worn in the meantime.
One practical note. Bioceramic is hard but marks more easily than steel, and the case is a monobloc that can't be sent away for a tidy-up — so work on a soft cloth, keep the spring-bar tool square to the bar, and keep metal away from the case flanks.
The best straps for the Pink Moonphase
1. Pink with a white line — the factory formula, kept
Swatch's own combination was pink with white contrast stitching, and that pairing is right. A pink strap with a white line reproduces exactly that relationship in a material that survives it: the same bright pink body, the same single white accent running its length, none of the fraying. 2. Black — side with the bezel
The pick that reads most like a watch and least like a novelty. Unusually for this collection, black is already in the design: the bezel is black, and the dial is black beneath its silver-pink opaline. So a black rubber strap isn't a neutral escape from the pink — it's continuing a colour the watch actually contains, which lets the pink case sit as a bright band across the middle of an otherwise serious object. It's also what makes the pulsometer scale easiest to read, which is the whole point of that bezel.
3. Full pink — continue the case
For anyone who bought this watch precisely because it's pink. A full pink strap runs the case colour uninterrupted from lug to buckle, so the black bezel and dial become a dark centre inside a pink object rather than the other way round. It's the loudest configuration available and the most fun, and on a watch built around a heart on a pusher, restraint isn't obviously the goal.
4. White with a pink line — invert it
The quiet one, and the most wearable across a whole summer. A white strap with a pink interior flips the factory formula: white becomes the field and pink becomes the accent, which mirrors the silver-pink opaline of the dial rather than the saturated pink of the case. It's the version that lets you wear this watch somewhere formal without explaining it.
