Big Bang straps are made for one case size, and the size is all that matters when you order. A 44 mm Big Bang takes a 44 mm strap, a 42 mm Big Bang takes a 42 mm strap, and the two do not swap. The case diameter is on your papers, or measure across the bezel without the crown. There is no single strap for every Big Bang: we make a separate strap for each case and each fitting, screw-fitted or One Click, all made for your original Hublot deployant buckle.
44 mm vs 42 mm: why the straps differ
The Big Bang was launched in 2005 at 44 mm, and that is still the classic size. The screw-fitted 42 mm case came later. From the front the two look the same: six H-shaped screws on the bezel, the rubber-clad lugs, the layered "sandwich" case. The strap ends are not the same:
| Big Bang 44 mm | Big Bang 42 mm | |
|---|---|---|
| Strap end (our listing) | 19 × 25 mm | 17 × 27 mm |
| Width at buckle | 22 mm | 22 mm |
| Length | 84 mm + 102 mm | 84 mm + 102 mm |
| Buckle | Original Hublot buckle | Original Hublot buckle |
| Materials we offer | Rubber and leather | Rubber |
Because the end is shaped to the case, a 44 strap will not sit in a 42 case and the reverse. The buckle end is 22 mm on both, which is why your existing buckle carries over.
Screw-fitted or One Click? Find your collection
Hublot attaches the strap in two ways. Look along the case flank where the strap enters: a small button means One Click, which is the Big Bang Unico and the current One Click models, including the women's 33 mm and 39 mm cases. No button and screw heads where the strap meets the case means a screwed fitting: the classic Big Bang, the King Power and older references. Each one has its own strap:
| Your Big Bang | Fitting | Our straps |
|---|---|---|
| Big Bang 44 mm (classic) | Screws | Big Bang 44 mm straps |
| Big Bang 42 mm (classic) | Screws | Big Bang 42 mm straps |
| Big Bang Unico | One Click | Big Bang Unico click straps |
| Women’s Big Bang (33 / 39 mm) | One Click | Straps for women’s models |
| King Power, Big Bang F1 King Power 48 mm | Screws | King Power straps |
A strap made for one fitting will not go on the other, even at the same width: the housing at the case decides the fit, not the millimetre. Order from the row that matches your watch.
Rubber or leather
- Rubber is what a Big Bang was designed around. It handles water, heat and gym sessions, and black rubber is the original look. Try the black rubber strap for the 44 mm, or go bright with the white rubber strap, which suits white ceramic and steel versions. Lifetime warranty on the rubber.
- Leather softens a 44 mm Big Bang for dinner or the office. The black leather strap is the safest pick; brown, navy and beige are also in the range. 1-year warranty.
For the 42 mm, the range is rubber: start with the black rubber strap for the 42 mm, with white, blue, grey and red in the Big Bang 42 mm collection.
Matching colours to your Big Bang
- Black dial, black ceramic or titanium: black rubber, or grey for a softer contrast.
- Blue dial: navy or blue rubber.
- Gold case: black or brown; brown leather on a gold Big Bang is a strong evening look.
- Summer: orange, yellow or white rubber. A Big Bang can take colour that would look odd on a dress watch.
Changing the strap
Lay the watch face down on a cloth. On a screw-fitted Big Bang, undo the screw at the case with a precise screwdriver, slide the old strap out, fit the new one and tighten gently. Our Hublot strap tool is made for this; a cheap screwdriver is the quickest way to damage the screw heads. Then move the buckle across. Rubber cleans with water and mild soap; see how to clean a rubber strap.
FAQ
Will a 44 mm Big Bang strap fit a 42 mm Big Bang?
No. The strap ends are cut differently for each case. Order by case size.
Can I reuse my Hublot deployant buckle?
Yes. Our Big Bang straps are made for the original Hublot buckle and are 22 mm wide at the buckle.
My Big Bang has a One Click button. Which strap do I need?
A One Click Big Bang Unico takes our Big Bang Unico click straps, not the screw-fitted 44 mm or 42 mm straps. Each fitting has its own collection; see the table above.
What warranty do the straps have?
Rubber straps have a lifetime warranty on the rubber. Leather straps have a 1-year warranty.
Other Hublot models, such as the Classic Fusion, take different straps. See our Hublot strap guide, the Big Bang Unico straps or all Hublot straps. Helvetus is not affiliated with Hublot.
