The BR 05 is the Bell & Ross for people who don't want to look like they're wearing an instrument panel. Launched in 2019, it takes the brand's square case, rounds the corners, and integrates the strap directly into the case — the sports-luxury formula, done in the one design language nobody else has.
That integration is the whole story where straps are concerned, and it's where BR 05 owners get caught out.
The One Thing You Have to Know
A BR 01 or BR 03 strap will not fit your BR 05. They look like the same idea — same brand, same square-derived case — but the BR 01 and BR 03 use conventional strap horns at the corners, while the BR 05's strap is cut to fit an integrated case opening. Different part, different range, no crossover.
The model name is printed on the dial. If it says BR 05, you want the BR 05 range specifically. If it says BR 01 or BR 03, you want the other one.
You'll also notice we don't publish a millimetre figure for the BR 05, and that's deliberate. On an integrated case, the width isn't the fit — the shape is. The strap has to meet the case opening exactly and continue the line of the case as if it were part of it. A strap that measures correctly but is cut straight leaves a wedge-shaped gap at each side, which is the single most visible failure in strap fitting. So you don't measure. You select the range for your model, and the shape is already right.
Rubber Is the Factory Answer Here
Worth saying plainly, because some owners hesitate before taking an integrated bracelet off: Bell & Ross themselves sell a grooved rubber strap for the BR 05. Rubber isn't a downgrade from the steel bracelet — it's one of the configurations the watch was designed around. It's also considerably lighter, which matters on a case with this much presence, and it takes the daily wear instead of a bracelet that's expensive and awkward to replace.
Ours is natural allergy-free rubber at 120 mm + 80 mm, and every rubber strap carries our lifetime warranty.
The Best Straps for the Bell & Ross BR 05
The BR 05 is a city watch with a tool-watch face — a legible dial, applied numerals, and nothing decorative anywhere. The strap should behave like a mounting surface rather than compete for attention, which makes the choice pleasantly simple: repeat a colour already on the watch, or go black.
1. Black Rubber – The Default, and the Most Useful
Most BR 05s have a black dial, and a black rubber strap is the version of this watch that works everywhere — with a suit, in a meeting, on a plane, at the weekend. It's the least interesting choice and the most correct one, which is exactly what a first strap should be. If you're buying one, buy this.
2. Blue Rubber – For the Blue-Dial References
Blue is the BR 05's other signature dial, and a blue rubber strap keeps the watch reading as a single designed object rather than a blue dial sitting on an unrelated band. It's also the most versatile colour after black — navy behaves almost like a neutral.
3. Green Rubber – The Understated Character Pick
For the military green references, or as a change of pace on a black-dial watch, a green rubber strap adds character without shouting. Green is the colour that reads as considered rather than flashy on a tool watch — one of the most popular choices among owners who want the watch to look like theirs.
4. Orange Rubber – The One That's Actually Earned
On most luxury watches a bright strap is a mistake. Not here. Bell & Ross designs from cockpit instrumentation, and cockpits use high-visibility colour deliberately — for warnings, limits and anything that has to be found fast. That's why an orange rubber strap reads as instrumentation on a BR 05 and as costume on a dress watch. It's the boldest option on this page and the one with a real argument behind it.
Fitting
The BR 05 rewards taking your time — an integrated case has close tolerances and the finish is unforgiving of a slipped tool. Our strap installation tools make it a clean job rather than an improvised one with a knife blade.
